Introduction
This senior project, called NG Trucks for short, was inspired by the poor design of the typical longboard truck being bunched up underneath the board. This design originates from the skateboard, which are not designed for the high speeds and tight cornering that longboards endure. By re-engineering this design and eliminating bushing connection underneath the board, the center of gravity lowers and allows use of larger wheels without sacrificing the instabilities caused by raising the board. These larger wheels then allow users to ride over cracks, rocks, and any obstacles the road may throw at you with ease! Not only this, but the leaning motion created by placing the pivot points next to the wheels causes riding forces to be directly downwards, improving maneuverability overall.
