A breakdown of the total costs for this project can be seen here. As shown, a base pay of $15 per hour was included in the estimated total to give an idea of the cost of this project if this work was performed on company time. The total cost of this project, including labor and part materials, came out to be $476. When it came time to purchasing the parts the budget was exceeded by $54, totaling $260 for all the metal. This was off since the shipping price was not included. This can also be referenced as a parts list, with all of the metal sizing along with their prices listed. A total of 5 items were ordered to manufacture the 16 different sections.

Schedule Overview

Fall Quarter

During this time, the engineering of the project begun. Most of the planning of the design took place during these months of September 2019 through December 2019 including analysis and part drawings. This section took a total of 95 hours.

Winter Quarter

During these months of January 2020 through March 2020, the parts were manufactured using a mill machine, lathe, drill press, and sanding belt. The device was also assembled by welding and bolts. This section took a total of 51.3 hours.

Spring Quarter

Spring quarter consisted of the testing and improving of the design. During this time period of March 2020 through June 2020, a total of 69.6 hours was spent on the project. You can also see the total estimated time and actual time it took to complete this project here.
